Back to Chug Ivrit Meeting - and week 3!

Its the third week of Chug Ivrit, and learning and fun are both going strong!  We are so grateful that our students are working with their teachers to gain their Hebrew superpowers, and have fun.  Remember that whether your child is learning in person or online, you should be coming here each week, and heading to their teacher's page for homework!  Monday night's Back to Chug Ivrit meeting also introduced our favorite Chug Ivrit homework mantra...LOUD AND PROUD.

Speaking of the Back to Chug Ivrit meeting - you can view that meeting here.

Let's make it a great week!

Week 2 Chug Ivrit!

Its the second week of Chug Ivrit!  We're so happy to see our learners again - in person and online - for a tremendous amount of learning and growing!

Grown ups, join us for our Back to Chug Ivrit night meeting, Monday October 18 from 8-9pm.  We'll be together for an hour to learn about the Chug Ivrit program, review grade level curriculum objectives, and share information about student work and expectations.  It will be joyful!

Don't forget to check your teacher pages for homework assignments each week.  Every week, Temple Sinai Chug Ivrit students have a little bit of homework, because practice is the key to mastery!  Homework should never be more stressful than it is productive - let us know if that happens and we'll fix it right up!

Have a great week of learning!

Welcome to the 1st day of Tuesday Chug Ivrit!

Welcome to the 1st day of Tuesday Chug Ivrit!

For students attending online, make sure to find your teacher's Zoom Classroom to the right of this message!  Make sure to be logged in five minutes before class so you know everything works.  Class ends at the :45 minute mark at the end of the hour.  (4:00 - 4:45)

For students attending in person, please drop off by vehicle at the main entrance, on Military Road.  Please pick up in the carpool line at the south entrance doors.  While in the vehicle line, please remain in line until you can exit the parking lot.  We know this means sometimes you'll be waiting a bit - but thanks for keeping our parking lot safe.  Where possible, please drop off within 5 minutes of the start of your class time.  Class finishes at the :50 minute mark at the end of the hour.  (4:00 - 4:50)

Make it a great day of learning!

Welcome to Chug Ivrit at Temple Sinai!

Welcome to Chug Ivrit 2021-2022!  Whether entering our Chug Ivrit program in person at Temple Sinai, or online with Temple Sinai, we are thrilled for a year of learning and growing together.

Learning Hebrew is magical.  As we take symbols and turn them into sounds, and sounds to words, and words to meaningful prayer - we take on a superpower in our tradition:  the power to connect to one another, to prayer, and to history, through a common set of sounds and melodies.

Hebrew is sometimes called lashon hakodesh, a holy language.  It is the language of our Torah, our sacred writings, the work of the rabbis, and the language of prayerbook.  Chug Ivrit celebrates this sacred language, and invites you along to enjoy and succeed at the process of learning together.

Here, on this site, you'll find lots of things!

* Connections and links to your teacher's site, where you'll find Zoom links, homework assignments, and more.

* Cool activities and games to play and engage with to help flex your Hebrew muscles when you want to.

* Important information from the TSRS administration about religious school, worship, and learning Hebrew together.

During the year, you may find a need to change your assigned Chug Ivrit time.  We'll do the very best we can to help find a new time that works for you.  While consistency is a helpful driver of success for students, if you do need to change classes, please complete the Request to Change Placement Form.

On Tuesday October 5, our year of learning and growing as students of Hebrew begins.  We all cannot wait to see you then!
